Solee and I sported out Cowgirl hats. (I know I look half asleep).
Solee cute princess hat is compliments of The Galovich family (Thanks! We love you!).

The Rodeo lasted a bit too long and Solee started crying 'I want to go home". We had 2 cars so I vouched to leave early. Carrying a 35+ pound toddler for the mile walk back to my car, in heels, while she cries and wiggles, being pregnant and tired, NOT my idea of a good time.
Then we REALLY Red Necked it up and went to Marysvale the next morning at 7 am. Where is Marysvale? About 2.5 hours southeast (I know, never heard of it either until Thursday). Nates aunt and uncle live in Circleville (neighboring city) and they invited us to their 24th festivities. Well, after the 15 minutes parade (if you didn't drive your 4-wheeler to watch the parade, you were a nobody), we headed to the town park for barefoot races and a fish rodeo. The races were very entertaining to watch. Nate, Brock and Nesha passed out on the grass.
The we waited and waited for the very exciting FISH RODEO. Now, if you haven't heard of one, I will tell you what it is.

The we waited and waited for the very exciting FISH RODEO. Now, if you haven't heard of one, I will tell you what it is.Basically, it's an old ice skating rink, filled with water. About a foot. Then you let all the kids in town get it. Then, you dump about 300 GIANT trout in the water and all the kids run around screaming, trying to catch a fish with their bare hands. Definitely the highlight of the day. I am sure P.E.T.A. would NOT approve. Poor fish went to waste as they got smacked around by a bunch of little kids. The WHOLE town and surrounding cities were there. It's a big deal.
Killing time with Dad
Kisses.
Waiting for the Fish Rodeo. This (little?) girl was a little too excited for them to open the gates. Poor thing, where is her mother? I had to snap a pic.
Solee in the Rodeo with Dad.
She LOVED it.
Until she realized they dumped foot long fish in there. Then she was in Nate's arms. Then Solee got naked and swam some more back at Nate's aunt and uncles house. Here she is with her sweet 2nd cousin Anna.
Then at 9 pm, we loaded up and drove the 2.5 hours home. It was a LONG but interesting day. Definitely something different. Are you jealous of my 24th festivities? I know you are.

I'm having a difficult time reeling my jaw back in.
A fish rodeo? I don't actually know what to think. My first thought is: WRONG!, though.
For the 24th. Only in Utah.
Love the fat little girl trying so hard to get in.
