A Blessed Woman I Am

I AM BLESSED.

Today while I was cleaning the bathtub getting ready to leave our week long trip to St. George, Solee (age 4-who can swim completely solo) decided to go get in the pool, which she knows is a huge "no no" without mom, and her little sister (19 mo-cannot swim solo) followed her.
A few minutes later I walk out to see the (usually locked) back door open and I ran outside expecting to see the worst.
Thankfully, although my baby (Vivian) was playing on the stairs with water up to her neck, she was totally fine and ALIVE.
ALIVE.
What should have been a tragedy, was a only a HUGE slap in the face.

It could happen to ANYONE, even an overprotective psycho like me.

Thankfully, God spared me from what would have been the most horrific moment of my life.
Just had to share because I am feeling SO grateful.

Oh my gosh, Meri! I have chills and tears streaming down my face. That is one of my very worst fears. And you hit the nail on the head...it can happen anyone (I am totally an overprotective psycho!)
I am so glad that that they were both okay and that Heavenly Father was watching over you all. Wow, so scary.

Omg you poor thing!!! Last week, someone suggested having a law in Denmark that would mean you would go to jail if your kid were to die by accident like that. Parents everywhere were outraged. No matter how protective we are, no matter how much we take care, accidents can and do happen. Thank God this one passed you by. xoxo

I know exactly what you mean. I wrote up a post about the same thing, my then 3 year old jumped in without his lifejacket (and no parent close by) and went right under. Thankfully one of the neighbors was close enough to grab him. I was so thankful to have been watched over! Glad your little babe is safe.

so glad you were being watched over!
nothing scarier than coming so close to tragedy.
i've had a couple moments as a mom like this where i knew it was a warning, to pay closer attention to important little details, and i felt so grateful that they were just warnings.

so glad your sweetie is alright!

What a blessing! I cannot even imagine. It is so scary sometimes being a mom... I so underestimate what my kids are capable of. Thank you for the wake up call!

And those little girls are just darling. I hope you are well!
